Claire & Charles hired me soon after their engagement. They are a very busy couple with very successful careers. They found Ingatestone hall online and knew they wanted to view it. The Bonus was it was very close to the church where the ceremony would be held. On arrival the breath taking driveway had captured them straight away. I instantly thought it was the perfect spot for arrival drinks and canape’s. As we walked through the historic house, which is still occupied, they advised it wasn’t to their taste. However, the beautiful grounds at the back of the house, along with a marquee had won them back. The selling point of this venue is being able to hire a marquee to your taste/budget and also providing all your own food and drink. This was going to be a very DIY wedding and I was super excited.
Claire and Chaz advised me their main goal was for everyone to enjoy the day, always have a drink in hand and for personal touches. A fabulous marquee was booked, inclusive of a round bar, and black and white dance floor. I loved doing all the small touches, including organza bags of confetti in colour theme, along with tissues with a tag attached saying ‘A tissue incase of a happy tear, petals for celebration in cheer’. The order of service were fabulous in gold glitter. Pink lanterns lining the ceiling of the marquee. Candles lining the greeting line, groom and bride frames for the back of the chairs, pink ribbon bows on the corner of all the other chairs for something different. A box of flip flops for the female guests so they can kick of their shoes and enjoy the live band. Lastly, the flowers, the most beautiful peonies I have ever seen.
The day before the wedding was extremely busy. It was also horrific weather. However, the wedding day was gorgeous weather and all. There was one hick up with the electricity, but it was fixed without anyone knowing thanks to the help of the wonderful staff at ingatestone hall. There were over 100 guests, and I don’t think I saw one of them all day and night without a glass in hand! Success all round.
I know Blossom Big says it every time – but it really was one of our favourite weddings 🙂
